Email blunders to never commit in your email marketing

So I just got an email that had the following screw ups.

1) There was a picture of a women as their icon/avatar, though it was signed “Mike”

2) The Name on the email was a females name

3) The Email address was linked to another name

Wow, the TRIFECTA of screw ups with an email.

The other thing was that they blatantly asked me to “Mark it as not spam” when clearly it was as I had never subscribed to this persons email list with my email.

To top it off, they had a hypertracker link (something used to track and test emails open and click rates etc.) though when you hovered over it you could see it was going to some other random link.

General rule here: Don’t ever do this!

This just wreaks of a piss poor marketing technique and one that screams of being a scamming piece of crap.

Don’t do that!

You will build trust and get people to click on your links and even buy stuff from you, when you come off as someone who can follow through with the right choices and decisions.

I do not sugar coat things and if you are offended by my pointing out these issues you might not be made out to succeed the right way online.

These type of marketers might get a sale now and again, but will NEVER build a successful business.

They keep having to do the same crap over and over again in order to succeed, though it never really happens with them.

Be sure to leave a comment below letting me know what you think about this whole scenario!

How you can benefit from others mistakes when you never give up

You promised yourself to never give up right?

If you did not, you will not succeed.

Failure is okay as you learn from it as long as you get back up and try again.

Maybe it takes you a little longer to get it compared to someone else, and that is fine…as long as you stick with it and learn from your mistakes.

The big question I have for you today is why you entered your email into the opt in box the other day?

Are you looking for something to solve your financial problems?

Are you looking for more education?

Are you looking for something to help pay some bills?

What exactly was it you were looking for?

I made a committment to myself when I start working online and do with just about everything I commit too, that I will not quit or give up.

You really need to have that attitude as well if you want to see results.

Even if it seems like it is the worst day ever and things will never get better, they usually do…then you look back a month or year from now and another bad day happens that made the first one seem like a walk in the park.

I am not trying to scare you for things to get worse, of course, but just to put things into perspective.
We grow based on what we often learn through failure.

The next time we then do something, we make the appropriate adjustments using the knowledge we have gained earlier and start seeing the results come in.

Possibly it is a larger subscriber list, or more sales.

Possibly it is more likes on your fanpages or more shares of your content.

Continuous action is what makes things happen.

Continuous testing is what makes failures turn into successes and help others often to skip failure when it is shared.

That is where Mike and Andy come in and they want to share their failures for Free!

The other day they were offering a $1 trial and tested it against this offer and guess what…it might be safe to assume that this one is winning!

It does not matter WHAT you promote, but is sure does matter HOW you promote it.

Learn from the mistakes of others and you might not have to worry about making them yourself when you continue to take action on your business growth.

Remember the promise…Never Give Up!

I know I won’t and I won’t give up on those who commit to making a difference in their lives either!

Why you should track your affiliate links and how to do it

Just curious this evening after I made a video about tracking

for the Magnetic Sponsoring courses:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lVr_R8T3_qM&feature=c4-overview&list=UUeW0E1CcH3f6AvJcNDfrG3Q

I am as guilty as many marketers out there in that I have

often taken the easy and quick route when it comes to

sending an email or affiliate link out the you or in the

social media world.

The quick way would be using the same link over and over

again which does not really help in tracking.

The question is why would you want to do this?

Lets say for example, you have links set out in many

places…Facebook, Google Plus, Youtube, etc.

You start getting leads, which of course is super cool

and keeps you totally motivated in continuing your

efforts online.

You might not know where they are coming from

though which is not really the wisest things to do

in getting you to have the best ROI (return on

Investment).

If you knew where your clicks and leads were coming

from this would totally make it easier to decide where

to spend your money or to buy your traffic from if you

were doing solo ads (paid advertising)

Many programs offer this option where you can add

a tracking link to your affiliate link, so that you know

exactly where it was that someone clicked on your link.

For example, I have been promoting both the Elite Marketing

Pro membership from Magnetic Sponsoring as well

as the 20 Minute Payday (and the 3 streams inside them)

over the past couple weeks and I wanted to know for sure

how many leads I got from each campaign.

I know which ad brought in how many clicks and how many

subscribers….Thus when all is said and done, I can determine

my ROI and determine when/if I want to use this solo ad

provider again.

The thing to keep in mind though if your cost per lead is not

what you had anticipated (and is higher)

*Your solo ad subject might suck so no one opens your email

*Your solo ad copy might suck, thus no one clicks your link

*The offer you are presenting might not fit the database desire

*Your link might not even be going to the right place and you have

wasted a solo ad!

*All your clicks and leads might not come in within 24 hours.  Have

you ever read an email about a week later…You know what I mean

I would think here.

All in all it pays to track and I know I need to do it more as well,

and also wanted to let you know of an easy Plugin to use for your

WordPress Blogs called Pretty Link lite which allows you to track

your links and make them look “pretty” instead of looking full of

odd characters.

For example, with the Elite Marketing Pro launch, which one looks

more appealling:

A) http://Barefootpainting.EliteMarketingPro.com

B) http://TheDavidGardner.com/Elite

Hopefully you chose the latter of the two as it looks smoother, especially

if you have a tracking link added which could make choise “A” above

even longer, like this:

http://barefootpainting.elitemarketingpro.com/?sid=VSNAugust2013

Now when you are sending an email like I am here, this does not

look clean and blatantly shouts out promo, which might turn

some folks off.

The better you make it look, the higher the chance of someone

clicking on it.

I made a video on using Pretty Link lite a while ago and wanted to

again share it with you as an easy way to make your links look

better in your emails, blog posts, social media blasts and wherever

you are going to put your links

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JsOhg7U4vn4

Any way you look at it, knowing where your leads are coming

from is going to benefit you more than you can ever imagine

if you have not done it yet.

If you have any questions, just send me an email, or reply

at either one of my videos mentioned here.

To your tracking growth!

PS Here is an ugly link for you to check out and an awesome

company I have promoted and used since 2009:

http://www.pureleverage.com/launch/10?id=BarefootPainting&campaign=EmailLinkTracking

PPS I can use this in a couple places and totally find out

where my links are coming from…I will know which came

from my email AND can also place a similar link on

my blog to know if there came from there instead!

PPPS As you are seeing this on my blog and can click

on the link here instead and it will show up as a

separate statistic in my back office and then I know

which one worked better!
