6 reasons why Valentine´s Day made me remember why you should use infographics in your content.
You´ve probably seen them everywhere last few days, infographics in all sizes and colors promoting anything related to Valentine´s day. In a blink of an eye I can at least remember 5 or 6 great infographics that I´ve seen around. On the contrary I can´t remember any great blog post I´ve read about this special day for many people. Not that there weren´t any good posts around, on the contrary. More and more people dive into visual marketing being it pictures or videos. I´ll talk about videos later but I wanted to share with you today why you should consider using infographics in your content.
For a quick recap, an infographic is a visual representation of information intended to present complex information quickly and clearly. It collects data, organizes it, and turns this information into an easy to understand visual, such as a chart or map, just like the one underneath.
I´ll give you 6 reasons why you should use infographics.
Infographics are more eye-catching than regular text. The combination of images, colors, movement, and content naturally draws the eye.
Due to people being rushed or short of time, we tend to look for visual material as opposed to actually reading text. Furthermore, we tend to remember information that we’ve seen more so than read. Remember “ a picture says more than a thousands words”.
Infographics are extremely shareable for use around the web. For example when published on a WordPress blog or website you usually get provided with an embed code, that allows an automatic link from the original site to yours. They also easily have a better chance of becoming viral compared to ordinary text when sharing on social media networks
You can use infographics to create brand awareness by consistently using the same colors, shapes, and messages, along with your logo.
People intend to click more on image than on text so a visually attractive infographic could drive people to your site, which can help with Google’s “Page Rank” algorithm, which is important for SEO.
Last but not least infographics are a fun way to engage with your readers or website visitors, and can engage them to share and like your content easier.
Did you know that 90 % of the information that we remember is based on visual impact. With 1.5 billion pieces of content, 140 million tweets, and 2 million videos on a daily basis some quality visual content won´t do any harm.
AND NOW IT´S YOUR TURN.
Do you make use infographics on your website or blog? If so how often and where do you get your infographics from? Do you agree on that visual content is getting more and more necessary in your online marketing strategy? Thank you for sharing any great ideas you should have.
