I admit, as I get older,.. I am now 43, I dislike going to the Doctors more and more. However I do make a point of going 2 times per year for a general physical.
Normally, I am a bit nervous to go just in case “I get bad news”. But this last time I was really nervous for some reason..
Guess what.. I am glad I went because they found something wrong!!

Everything was perfect. My PSA for my prostate, my triglycerides were low, my bad cholesterol was low, my kidney and liver function were perfect..
But… my good cholesterol was low too. YIKES!!!!!!
For those who do not know, there is 2 types of cholesterol in the body. LDL or Low Density Lipo proteins. LDL is what will clog your arteries if it is too high. Then there is your good cholesterol or your HDL High Density Lipo Proteins. Your HDL removes plaque from your arteries and keeps them clean.
Clean arteries means no heart attacks or strokes.
So even though my LDL was normal.. my good cholesterol (HDL) was low and it should be high to keep my arteries clean.
Ok before I get too scientific for you.. the moral of the story is this. I am super happy I went to the Doctor and here is why.
When I found our my good cholesterol was low I started thinking about why? What had I changed in my diet?
Guess what, for the past 5 months or so I have been not trying to lose anymore body fat because I am happy at being around 6 to 7%. I use a lot of dietary fiber to help me lose weight and body fat, but since my body fat was low I stopped using the fiber..

So 6 months ago my HDL was good, this time it was too low. Guess what? I am starting to take my dietary fiber again and I am starting my 7minute cardio sessions again. (I got lazy on the cardio side a bit)
Had I not gone to the Doctor I would have never known!! Now that I know I can easily do something about it!!

I went to the Doctor and I am glad I did because my problem is easily fixed!! Had I not fixed it, I could be a good candidate for a heart attack or stroke in a few years…
