What have your critics done lately

You will always have critics giving you negative reviews on your work.

It is easier to find fault in something than it is to see the value.

When you do get bad reviews, look at the source and determine if it is worth listening to.

If the the person panning your work has not achieved the success you are after, don’t pay any heed to their heckles.

Carry on and keep working as best as you can toward your goals.

How much will you do for freedom

It is not enough to do one thing then expect to have all your dreams come true.

If you truly wish to change your life and gain your freedom, you must perform tasks on a daily basis.

You must keep an eye on what you do and adjust to stay in tune with the changing world around you.

Never give up on your dreams because of the time it will take to reach them, the time will pass whether you are using it wisely or not.

Are you taking advantage of opportunities or taking risks?

There is little difference between risk taking and seeking opportunity

When chances are presented to us we can view them as either opportunities or risks.

You can look at all the rewards you will receive from a successful outcome.

Or you can look at all the potential costs incurred if the outcome is not favorable.

It all depends on your state of mind.

You can be optimistic and look at the good outcomes or pessimistic and linger on the unfavorable ones..

One thing is for certain though, if you never take any risks you will never receive any rewards!

Simon quote

Most of the great breakthroughs in life are achieved by people doing something new or in a different way.

The action is taken even though there is a feeling of dread or uncertainty in the mind.

If you wait until all the risks are removed and it becomes a “sure thing”, the opportunity will most likely have passed you by. Continue reading

Choose the flavors you prefer

Do you like to try new foods?

Have you ever tasted something that you thought you wouldn’t like that ended up being one of your favorite dishes?

Everyone has different tastes, whether it be food or fashion or activities.

So try as many things as you can to determine if they suit your tastes.

At the very least, you will know that it is not for you and you can avoid it in the future.

Do you choose with your heart or your mind?

When making purchases, most people’s rational thoughts fly out of the window.

Emotions play a much more dominant role than reason.

People purchase things based on how they feel about them more than by how useful or reliable the item may be.

Next time you are about to make a purchase, take a moment to ask yourself the motive behind the purchase.

You may be surprised!

Joel Therien and Now Lifestyle

Some Background Information on Now Lifestyle’s Founder

Joel Therien had a thriving career as a personal trainer and he started his second professional career right out of University as a Pulmonary and Cardiac Rehabilitation Specialist at the Montford Hospital in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.

Although he had an amazing boss, great working colleagues and a pretty good salary of $52,000 a year, Joel wanted more. He wanted to provide a better future for himself and his family.    So… the thought of doing stress testing at a hospital for the next 40 years started to lose its appeal. Hence he quit after eight months into it.

However, at 27 years of age he started to lose his health and became a “medical mystery”, as he likes to refer to his health problem. He had been misdiagnosed with either Lou Gehrig’s disease, multiple sclerosis, or brain cancer. He went from a lean muscular 240 pounds with 7% body fat down to 165 pounds. As a bodybuilder, this deeply concerned him and this is when he turned to the internet to look for answers. Continue reading

Who are you taking council from

Whenever you start out on a new venture, you will always run into people who will have negative views to share.

If you have done your research and believe in your course, don’t let these detractors sway you from it.

Especially if these people have not attained the goals you are striving to reach.

Tell them you will take heed of their warnings and carry through with your plans.

Be wary of whose council you listen to

People love to give off the cuff advice, and it is usually of a negative nature.

When you receive this advice regarding a new venture you have undertaken, ask some qualifying questions of the person.

Lets say you are starting a new online business that requires you maintain a blog for exposure.

You will hear the line:

“I tried that and it didn’t work.”

When you do, probe deeper into this person’s work.

Ask to see their blog, read their posts, find out which company they were affiliated with.

You will most likely see that:

  • they only made 2 or 3 blog posts
  • the posts themselves were poorly structured and uninformative
  • they were affiliated with a totally different company

And most importantly, they did not achieve the goal you are trying to attain!

When this occurs, politely tell them you will take their advice into consideration and move forward with your plans.

If you feel you do need advice, seek out people who have attained the goal you are striving toward and ask them.

This way you will be receiving council from a person who can direct you properly and not just misdirection from a disappointed person.
